
The upcoming Disability Royal Commission public hearing into employment has now been further postponed due to COVID-19 concerns
Due to the ongoing nature of the current COVID-19 restrictions, including the extended lockdown in Greater Sydney, the Disability Royal Commission has decided that Public hearing 16 will be further postponed until November 2021 (the exact date is still to be confirmed).
This decision has made to protect the health and safety of witnesses, Royal Commission staff and the general public.
This will the the Disability Royal Commission’s second hearing on the accessibility of open employment. It will be their opportunity take a closer look at how employers and workplace regulations contribute to the systemic barriers faced by people with disability accessing employment and in our places of work.
